girlfriend!

I feel so fortunate and blessed to have a friend like tsz shan! after we finish our Halloween shopping.. and we had nothing to do.. she gave me free manicure and pedicure! and its so nice! my nails never look this good..
and check out the Swarovski Crystals on my nails! so pretty!

and after that.. she helped me pimp my iphone! now my phone has fruits on them! looks delicious! and she added a letter K made w swarovski crystal as well.. she always do things for me without asking for anything in return.. love you so much my dear! i cant wait for halloween!!

Journalism Ethics

There is this article written in the Chinese paper today (wan bao) on my grand aunt! the reporter went to interview her as a follow up on a post on omy.sg by some netizen.. and he manage to come up with half a page of over sensationalize news.. which amazes me..

In the article there were detailed information on names of her children and all.. and there was this part about how she earn only 8 dollars a day from collecting card board and still have t0 split the $ with her brother to support him.. and it goes on about how sad her life but she is very strong willed and can support herself..

It amazes me because..

firstly - she is deaf and dumb.. even after so many years of living w her i cant understand her totally.. a reporter whom met her for the first time can get so much out of her.. truly amazing..

Next- the fact about how she earns so little and needs to support herself blah blah.. but collecting cardboard is a means to past time and her children gives her ample allowance.. she aint that miserable!

and..she does not support her brother! in fact my aunt do give him allowance and he collects cardboard as well.. and he is doing even better than her!

This whole article paints such a grim picture of my family.. like we do not take care of our elders and all.. which is not true at all.. these journalist are writing at the expense of one's reputation and the truth!

what happened to principles of Journalism like - truthfulness, accountability to public, objectivity??

Project

Presentations are finally over for this sem.. time to pause and breath a little.. but there are still deadlines coming up.. sigh. and after that its going to be exams! what a dread!



And this sem..my house seem to be a new venue for projects.. due to its very central location.. (now you know boon keng is not ulu at all! ) my house looks like a lan gaming shop with all the laptops..

i should start charging for electricity!

well, it was not all work and no fun.. besides project.. 60 percent of the time is devoted to watching funny videos on YouTube, poker games, eating durian, trying to jam, analysing Singapore pools (bp, cad,zj) and sleeping (for zj).. but we still manage to get things done..

and the most funny thing was how we tried to play this communication/team building game in my hse... and we cant find blind fold.. so participants are given blue bags instead! they look like they are gng to b executed la! it was hilarious! you can catch the vid on facebook!

anyway.. presentation standards have really gone up this sem in sde.. mus say that its really getting competitive especially for the HR module! pray that mr low likes us! oh and cad nana eug n me just went for the US work and travel interview.. it was more like a session to address your concerns.. and if all goes well we will be in six flags in New Jersey next summer hols!

Flash Mob

Flash Mob.. the next big publicity stunt in Spore..

A flash mob (or flashmob) is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual action for a brief time, then quickly disperse (wiki)



this one is in raffles city shopping centre..



They really catch their audiences by suprise.. it feels like in the movie Enchanted where the people start singing and dancing in the park! Those 2 flash mobs were publicity for the up coming dans festival at Esplanade! so far the largest scale flash mob done in spore i think.. i think we will be seeing more of such things.. cus its very new and fresh.. you know how singaporeans like fads..

Shopping tip

Levis.. Bring any pair of jeans and trade them in for $50 to get an new pair of jeans! and it doesn't have to be levis jeans.. any pair of jeans will do! its a great deal.. get rid of those seam bursting tight jeans and get a brand new one at a discount.. its happening from 27 oct - 1 nov at Nee An City basement atrium.. Aunt Lilian told me abt this and its on today's paper as well.. great reason for me to go shopping.. i want new jeans!!!

Night Cycling

SDE Night Cycling! the only time i cycle in the whole year.. and its my 3rd time attending! well, its a little different tis year... cus i made eug lee take double bike w me! alot less physically straining for me.. nt sure how much he suffered.. hahaha..

The yr 3! the old birds.. great having them there!

pit stop at simpang bedok! louis and gang came to join us for supper.. they were too lazy to cycle! overall the event was fun and tiring as usual.. but its a gd time to catch up with the rest of the ppl whom i hardly see in sch cus of our slack timetable.. and i m still tired frm all tt cycling! i want Massage !!!

SteamBoat Dinner..

SteamBoat Dinner.. at amanda's house with the cell.. aunty pat made us steamboat.. and insetead of cooking white rice.. she made chicken rice! it was fantastic! Yummy! she is a gd cook.. and we celebrated ivan 1 mth late bday as well.. i like being in this cell.. :)

Reflections at Keppel Bay

Behavioural in Real Estate.. a project on Reflections at Keppel Bay.. due to the intensive competitiveness in school.. when it comes to doing presentation.. we gotta step up our game.. so we decided we must dress to kill and come up with fancy gimmicks..

our gimmick.. Waiter Zj.. dressed in a waiter suit.. serving Dr faishal with sparkling juice in a wine glass with nice chill out music playing in e background.to bring the sensation n experience of being in the showroom to the class..haha..

luckily we use these gimmicks.. cus there was another group who presented on the same development as us as well! but we manage to leave a deeper impression!

one project down! but many more to go.. i need time!

Yum Cha!

Yum Cha.. Dim Sum buffet. eat till you merlion! but too bad this time we dint manage to make Zj merlion.. it was a cosy lunch w the dearest lycan family at the china town yum cha.. its really nice and comfy to hang out w them.. feels very family..


the food quality is pretty good.. the egg tarts rocks! its so good that nana ate 8 by herself! its freshly baked and it melts in your mouth! good dim sum at a affordable price!

lunch was followed by a tour around china town.. we feel like tourist! and boon pin gave us a tour around An Siang Road. and its surprisingly interesting.. its totally different from the cheena feel of china town.. its like a Haji Lane kind of street shopping with boutiques of famous brands like Agnes B. and Fred Perry and alot of very nice chill our bar.. ezann and i were super thrilled by the tour.. for once boon pin recommendation got standard!

SweetStone

Sweet Stone al Fresco Cafe.. its a desert cafeopened by my friend, Keith, my gd friend at Huttons.. and on Sat they are giving out FREE ice cream to celebrate their opening! so if you are around bishan this weekend.. do pop by for free ice cream!!! and of course the very famous belgium waffles ! Yummy! i cant wait to try them myself!

Stewards RiverBoat

Stewards Riverboat.. Another interesting food place worth going.. the food is really good and the dining experience is super cool.. its a restaurant inside a boat..this boat use to be at sentoas but have since move to marina bay. they serve texas mexican style of food.






dint manage to take nice pics of the food.. so just decide to grab pics off the web.. they are famous for their Fajita.. its like a wrap.. like taco bell style except tt u get to do it yourself. their grill stuff also very nice!

it was a nice cosy dinner w gek shan treivn and jouie.. we went there for dinner cus gek is considering it as a venue for her 21st birthday and she is asking for our opinion.. the food is definitely good.. the place setting and ambiance is excellent.. the only concern we had was how the boat would sway with the waves... old ppl may get sea sick.. but besides tt.. it was a great experience..

and the boat has a beautiful top deck that faces the sea! very nice and romantic.. this place is at marina bay area.. they provide free shutter bus! so its pretty accessible! can check them out at their webby.. http://www.riverboat.com.sg/index.html

LapTop Hunt

I went shopping yesterday..but its not any normal shopping trip.. i went shopping at Funan Digital Life Mall.. shows that i am a pretty sophisticated person k! well the purpose of the trip is to source for a new lappy cus my pink viao is going crazy..




and the ppl in the mall is really weird.. they dun seem to speak English.. they speak in some alien codes.. like GB, MB, RAM.. and so on... they would speak one whole chunk of that language to me.. i try to look like i understand them..



I m glad i brought along my interpreter.. Eug Lee! hahaa.. he totally understands them and he would jus break down the terms to something i can understand.. but when i start asking questions like.. wad colour do u have, do u have it in pink.. he says i m being bimbotic.. but then those are genuine concerns.. the men just dun get it.. oh well.. haha..
