Carlos in Singapore!

Carlos.. our Brazilian friend whom we meet all the way in the US was here in Singapore for the Youth Olympic Games! he was here as a volunteer. Its amazing how the timing was so perfect he met us while we were working at Six Flags and he came back just when we were returning as well. (we were even on the same flight back!). We have been bringing him around whenever he has days off.. its kinda fun to playing host..

we had a welcome back party at Rachel's house.. we were suppose to appear in bright yellow and wear our Six Flags badges and name tag.. but carlos was the only hardworking one who turned up in the full SF uniform theme! its nice to party again like how we did in the US.. its amazing how we have the same party with the same people but half way round the world!

we did the usual thing we do.. just eat and drink beer and chill and relive the good days.. Rachel's dad made this amazing Vietnam noodles.. its so nice!

the Singaporeans!!

we brought him to Zouk.. to experience nightlife in Singapore.. he complains that beer is so expensive here! well its true.. we could get 24 cans of beer with just 20 sgd in US but over here 1 beer could cost you almost 15! he brought the rest of his YOG friends to party with us.. they dun seem to appreciate Mambo music as much as us..

How could a trip to Singapore be complete without eating at the Hawker centre! the idea of a hawker centre is really new to him.. there isn't anything like that in Brazil or the US. in the US their food courts consist of a variety of fast food joints.. thats all.. he is so amazed by the variety of good and cheap food.. and its also the cheapest place to get beer!

we went to bedok 85! and he got to try about 10 different sg dishes!

after dinner we drove to buy KOI and then to Ah Chew.. he was apprehensive about drinking milk tea cus he says that in Brazil no one puts milk in their tea! so weird right! he says he is going to make his friends in Brazil try milk tea..

the whole idea of sharing food at dinner is new to him.. cus the westerners usually just order their own and that's all..

we went to wala as well.. cus he likes rock and roll music! and he really likes the band.. we were there like 2 days last week on Thursday and Saturday!

Ya Kun! the most popular breakfast in sg.. half boil eggs with toast.. he has never tried soft boil eggs in his life! and i had to tell him that kaya is coconut jam! haha! and he has nv see ppl make coffee with socks! must have been an eye opening experience for him..

Henderson wave.. he says he saw this on his travel book and he really want to see it.. i haven been there myself.. its nt too bad i guess.. nice board walk with nice view of the city.. nice place to hanky panky at night..

Tze Cha dinner experience before he leaves for the airport..

Chili crab!!! Oat Meal Prawn!! Sambal Kang Kong!! all the must try!!

Then its time to say good bye.. thats the worst part.. wonder if we will get another chance to hang out again.. well at least there is FB..
WE are going to miss you!!

He is going on a holiday for the next 2 months to Europe.. its amazing how his whole life is a holiday.. he use to work in brazil and then he got tired of life and decide to just pack his bag and leave! found a job at six flags in US and just work enough to get $ to travel.. he has since travelled the whole of the US and is going on to travel Europe.. and wherever life will take him next..an interesting lifestyle that is not concern with chasing the material things in life, living out of a suitcase and travel all over the world! guess it takes alot of courage to do that...
