happy birthday grandma
Happy Birthday Grandma !
its grandma's 70th birthday.. that's really something to celebrate.. 70 and still going strong.. my grandma is hip and happening one k.. she wears skinny jeans, is a avid fan of wu zun, watches more korean drama than me, walks super fast, majong queen. i would love to be like her when i m 70.
So our family gathered, around 14 of us. were suppose to eat at some restaurant near home but its fully booked so we head over to farrer park area to this really interesting restaurant called 'Pu Tien' along Kitchener road. its ranked among the top 50 restaurants in Singapore. we arrived there and there was already a queue, so we were stranded outside the restaurant and waited almost half an hour for a table.
the restaurant serves really unique and fine Chinese cuisine. every dish seem to bring a different surprise. will just mention a few.. so appetisers, we had thinly slices bitter gourd.. one of the most my most detested food, but then this dish comes with some honey dip which makes the bitter gourd taste sweet and refreshing.. that's something i nv expect..
when the waiter served this, everyone's eyes on the table lit up, i have never seen buns so golden ! instead of the traditional 'kong ba bao' which is steamed and come with fatty pork. this one has its bun fried and it came with some special minced meat filling.. restaurant's specialty..

prawns ! they put all the prawns and gravy into this bamboo container, which its really cute, you have to fish them out literally.. its much nicer than the usual drunkard prawn.. super fresh !

we ate so much till we couldn't get up from our seats.. and the total damaged done $400 ! guess it is not too much to pay for such a large crowd and fine cuisine.. yummy !
